C.S. Lewis said, "You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." My sentiments, exactly! I'm always a little sad to come to the end of either one because books are my friends.

I don't waste time reading books I don't enjoy, so I allow two chapters for a book to prove itself a "good read." If I'm not drawn in by the end of the second chapter, I don't bother reading the rest of the book. I'd recommend any book here on my list. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have read it.
A couple of years ago I decided I'd like to keep a list of books I've read, but I'd start a list, then end up forgetting where I put it or I'd just forget to update it. It'll be easier to keep up with here on my blog, so this post will serve as my running list of books already read in 2009. (Hee, hee--"already read" sounds funny, but I'm leaving it that way on purpose, because I'm a goofball.)
I'm always looking for more good reads, so I'd love some suggestions!

My fave is: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Jamie,
Wanted to pass on a fun thing to you. (You can check it out on my sidebar). We are using Goodreads.com to keep track of our books for home school and hopefully I will begin to add the books I read too. You can post a link to your sidebar and updated as needed. We really like it. You can choose to name shelves and keep track of dates. I am thinking this will be nice at the end of the school year, because I will have all my books listed in one easy spot. Hope you are having a great day!
"Same Kind of Different As Me" was so good!!
What a great idea to keep a (grown-up) book list on your blog - I might just have to start one!
Thanks for the great recommendations - I've been curious about Kissed Dating Goodbye.
AMEN TO THE BOOKS!!! BUT MY CUP IS USUALLY FULL OF COFFEE!!
That CS Lewis quote fits you perfectly.
